Ewan McGregor is an Scottish actor. He is best known for portraying Obi Wan in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Obi Wan is one of the most popular characters in the entire series. He appeared in other movies such as Jack the Giant Slayer and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
Ewan McGregor was born on March 31, 1971 Perth, Scotland. His father and mother are retired teachers. He moved to London when he was 18 years old to study Drama. In 1999, McGregor starred in the blockbuster Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as the young Obi-Wan Kenobi, a role originally made famous by Sir Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars trilogy. He starred opposite to Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge. He has since appeared in films such as Jack the Giant Slayer and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
Ewan McGregor has been married since 1995 to Eve Mavrakis. The couple have four daughters together.
