According to the Hashcat developer, the new Wifi hacking method enables the attackers to acquire Pre-shared Key login credentials of the Wifi network. With the help of the credentials, the attackers can trespass the security barrier.

The Hacat researcher also explained that the new method is different from the other methods where you have to wait for another user to login in order to capture the full authentication of EOPL. This method eliminates the need for another user you can directly target the networks and acquire to hack the Wifi, as it is performed on RSNIE (Robust Security Network Information Element).

Steps for ‘how to hack the wifi password’ using PMKID

You can use any of the hacking tool similar hcxdumptool that will help in requesting the PMKID from the targeted access point.

Once you receive the frame using the tool dumped it into a file.

Now, you need to convert the frame file into the hash format using the tool so Hashcat can take it.

Now, use Hasact, the password cracking tool of version 4.2.0 or higher for generating the WPA PSK( pre-shared key).

Once the cracking completed, you will get the password of the Wifi network

The researcher has mentioned that the methods will only work for the networks with roaming functions enables. The cracking of the password can take time as it depends upon the length and complexity of the password. Besides, the methods don"t work on the WPA 3 standard wireless network protocols.
